This year, a new water intake will be designed in Svalyava

 In recent years, Svalyava has been lacking water. In 2002, a temporary water intake from the village of Vovchy was made for the city, however the water discharge there is constantly decreasing. In July, the spring dries out completely, so it can be operated for another 3 – 5 years, and no more.

The construction of a powerful water intake on the Vycha river, that would provide the district center with water in sufficient amount, began in 1970s. But later, the work was suspended. Now the district management decided to resume the old project making the necessary changes.

During the working visit of Hennadiy Moskal to Svalyava district, it was decided to start designing the water intake this year. The necessary funds will be allocated out of the revenues from the environmental tax and the district budget. The development of the documentation will begin in the second half of the year.
