On the night of 24 to 25 of December, the Catholic Christmas is celebrated.
On Christmas Eve, there should be 12 dishes on the table. However they have not had fasting as such, only so called Advent – the period of waiting for the holiday.
During the month before Christmas, devout Catholics have tried to devote more time to prayers and church attendance, communication with the family. On Catholic Christmas, they usually eat
sanctified bread – wafers that are used in churches for communion. And the main Christmas dish is duck with apples or roasted turkey.
On Christmas, Catholics give presents to everyone – no close person can be left without them.
