They DO cut down the trees in the Botanical Garden after all

The regional prosecutor Anatoliy Petrunia announced it at the press conference on April 20. According to his words loggings that are held in the neighborhood ‘Shakhta’ is actually the nature reserve territory, therefore ecologists are verifying this fact.

We want to remind you that recently regional mass media reported the fact of cutting down the trees on the territory of the Botanical Garden of UzhNU, but this information was categorically denied by the press service of the City Council. According to the Director of the Botanical Garden of UzhNU Dmytro Soyma ‘on the territory which UzhNU is responsible for, no logging occurs. Neither does in Uzhgorod. Cutting down the trees is held in Uzhgorod district and forest areas of Uzhgorod state forestry (beyond the protected areas). The mentioned territory is adjacent to the area of the Botanical Garden which is the monument of landscape architecture of national significance’.
