On Sunday, June 9, the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater invites to two premieres: at 12.00, the actors will present the musical fairy tale for children "The Birthday of Leopold the Cat" by A. Khait, and at 18.00 – the second premiere of the play "The Zhmenyaks" based on the novel by Mykhailo Tomchaniy will be held.
The Transcarpathian saga about the eternal struggle between the spiritual and material was adapted for stage by the director, People’s Artist of Ukraine Anatoly Filippov.
The entire cast of the theater is involved in the production. Wonderful musical numbers, witty dialogues of the prominent wordsmith Mykhailo Tomchaniy, irreconcilable conflict between marriage for money and true love make the new production of "The Zhmenyaks" the main event of this theater season in Transcarpathia.
