The artists from the youth association at the regional branch of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine presented their works in the "Uzhgorod" gallery. According to the head Petro Svalyavchyk, the association has been existing for a long time, however, it has been particularly active over the last three years. Currently, it includes about 20 promising artists who can later become members of the National Union of Artists.
The exhibition features nearly 40 works from 12 authors. In general, according to Petro Svalyavchyk, it’s one of the benefits of the participation in the association – the opportunity to exhibit your works for free in the known city gallery, where they can be seen by a wide range of visitors and professional artists. The members of the youth association can also take part in plein airs and exhibitions organized by the Union and it also contributes to self-improvement.
Meanwhile, the head of the Transcarpathian branch of the NUAU Boris Kuzma said that his generation had significantly fewer opportunities for creative expression in the days of their youth, and today exhibit spaces are open to all artists, and freedom of opinion and means of expression is appreciated, but young people are not very active. So, the artist advised his successors to be more active and free in their creativity. However, Boris Kuzma also noted successful works of individual exhibitors.
By the end of the year, it is scheduled to present two more collective exhibtions, including the traditional New Year and Christmas one.
