The winter holiday setting and the taste of mulled wine attract to Narodna Square of Uzhgorod

Today, on January 9, the 2nd International Gastronomy and Caroling Festival "Vassylya" opened its locations on Narodna square. 120 producers of wine, honey, cheese, farm products from different regions of Ukraine, as well as abroad (in particular, Romania, Poland, Macedonia, Germany and the Czech Republic) will come to the six-day fair. During the feast, dedicated to the day of St. Basil the Great, there will be spectacular and colorful performances of caroling groups, and artists for the second time will present their works of fine and decorative arts in the atrium of the Transcarpathian RSA (the opening is on January 11 at 11:00).

The official start of the festival is on Friday, January 11, at 13:00. On that day, there will be the concert program from the Honored Academic Transcarpatian Folk Choir, as well as the performances of the children’s groups of Uzhgorod schools and the ensemble "Zakarpatski vizerunky" of the Regional Philharmonic.

The festival days will be marked not only with diverse food in the fair town, but also with a colorful program filled with the spirit of Christmas. Thus, on January 12, "Caroling in the old village" will visit the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life. At the festival stage, caroling groups from all over the region will be performing for the spectators. Christmas carols, children’s games and entertainment will continue through January 14.
