The fire in the "Ukraina" shopping centre shocked the whole city of Uzhhorod. It evoked a lot of suppositions concerning the cause of the event. However, there are grounds for two suppositions: the unsatisfactory state of fire safety (old electrical wires on the top of it) and arson. The true victims of the fire are the enterpreneurs. They lost they whole business, some of them the entire means of living in just a moment. Indeed, there are a lot of questions addressed to the local authorities and their plans concerning the event.
The city hall responded to the happening. Moreover, Bohdan Andriyiv informed at the session of the Uzhhorod City Council on February 4 the following: "Nobody contacted me in any questions. I have not given and will not give any orders concerning either the restoration or the renowation. The Ministry of Emergency Situations is, who will give the permission to do this. Though the enterpreneurs will decide upon the future of the shopping centre."
At the moment, the prosecutor’s office has started criminal proceedings on the violation of fire safety requirements in the "Ukraina" shopping centre.
Bohdan Andriyiv is going to initiate a meeting with the enterpreneurs and co-owners of the "Ukraina" shopping centre, in order to find out their intentions concerning the burnt building, report the media.
