The Verkhovna Rada has officially scheduled local elections for October 25

This was reported at the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on July 15, the UP reported.

Resolution № 3809 was supported by 326 people’s deputies.

The Cabinet of Ministers, together with the Central Election Commission, is to develop measures and recommendations aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19 during the October 25 elections.

According to the resolution, local elections on October 25 will be held in Ukraine everywhere, except for the Russian-occupied Crimea and the districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions not controlled by the Ukrainian government.

Elections in these territories will take place only after the cessation of Russian aggression and the withdrawal of illegal armed groups. They will be scheduled by a separate law.

The author of the legislation is the People’s Deputy from the "Servant of the People" Alina Zagoruyko.
