Literary workshop, debriefing and visits to four districts are planned at the finish of the "Transcarpathian Dialogues", which uzhgorod.in has informed about.
The cultural project "Transcarpathian Dialogues" will take place again in the region from 10 to 13 of May. This is the third and the final phase of the project which started in mid-March on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, known modern Ukrainian writer, screenwriter and journalist Andriy Kurkov and with the support of the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
This time, besides the traditional meetings with local communities off the regional center, there will be some interesting events in Uzhgorod.
In particular, on Tuesday, May 10 at 12.30, in the building of the regional branch of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine (Zhupanatska str., 3), there will be a literary workshop for participants of the short prose contest for young authors of Transcarpathia "Mountain horizons".
And at 17.00 on the same day, in the reading room of the Transcarpathian Regional Library, there will the announcement and awarding of the winners of that contest, and a press conference on the two stages of the project "Transcarpathian Dialogues." The purpose of the project was the establishment of intellectual dialogue between the different cultures that live in Transcarpathia, so the participants will share their experiences, how they succeeded and what they will remember about the culturally diverse, but so phenomenally solid and neighborly region.
As for journeys during the third phase of the project, the dialogue will be moderated, as always, by the curator Andriy Kurkov, a representative of the project in Transcarpathia, writer and literary critic Mykhailo Roshko, and, this time, writers Artem Chapai (Kyiv), Bandy Sholtes (Uzhgorod), and the winner of the "Mountain horizons", whose name is still a secret.
