The tax officera, who was detained for taking 5,000 UAH bribe, will be judged

The criminal proceedings against the tax officers, detained while receiving 5,000 UAH of undue advantage, were submitted to the court

The Investigation Department of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region completed the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings commenced over receipt of 5,000 UAH of undue advantage by a tax inspector of the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region.

 According to Vasyl Yusyp, the investigator for particularly important cases of the investigation department of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region, "The preliminary investigation revealed that the officer assured a female entrepreneur that in return of 5,000 UAH, using his official position, he would persuade his colleague – an auditor – in preparing the report during the documentary check at the entrepreneur’s."

The indictment against the former official of having committed an offense under Part 2 of Art.369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (ie, trading in influence, qualifying signs of which are obtaining undue advantage for influencing the decision of a person authorized to perform state functions) was submitted to Uzhgorod city and district court for consideration on the merits.

Sanction of Part 2 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment in the form of a fine of seven hundred and fifty to one thousand five hundred tax-free minimum incomes, or imprisonment for a term of two to five years, with a special forfeiture.
