The scandal due to the extortion of a bribe reported by a Transcarpathian journalist is gaining momentum

The Slovak Finance Minister responded to the information about extortion of a bribe by a customs officer on the Slovak-Ukrainian border:

"This kind of behavior of the financial management personnel is unacceptable, and therefore I asked the President of the Financial Administration to solve this problem immediately. A new financial act has been adopted that provides for higher wages to its employees and has a higher level of responsibility.

Therefore, I demand immediate and maximum punishment for the culprit, responsible solution and systematic measures by the leadership. The financial management should be a professional institution where we do not suffer from extortion of bribes", – the Minister of Finance of Slovakia Petro Kazimir said after the meeting with the head of the customs of Slovakia

Recall that Ukrainian journalist Vitaliy Glagola posted in social networks a video, which shows a Slovak customs officer asking fo a bribe.Soon, the Slovak customs responded saying that corruption is unacceptable!

After reporting on the reaction of the Minister of Finance to this incident, Vitaliy Glagola added: "There salaries had been raised before that, that is why now they are demanding to be very responsible and will punish for bribes…"
