The regional authorities want to move medical institutions from the center of Uzhgorod to the BAM. City residents propose to do the same with the regional council building

At the plenary meeting of the 16th session of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, scheduled for tomorrow, September 26, it is planned to launch the project of the "large resettlement" of several health care institutions – Transcarpathian Regional Dental Clinic (Nezalezhnist embankment, 8), Regional Hospital for Veterans of War of the Transcarpathian Regional Council (Tolstoy st., 13) and Transcarpathian regional blood transfusion station (Tolstoy st., 15) – on the outskirts of the city known as "BAM".

According to the explanatory note to the relevant draft decision, published on the official site of the Regional Council, the listed institutions "currently use separate buildings in the center of Uzhgorod with a total estimated value of about 60 million hryvnias."

Instead, these medical institutions are proposed to be moved to the former maternity hospital located on the territory of Uzhgorod City Clinical Hospital.

These intentions have stirred up society, and outraged posts of citizens and members of the media have appeared on the Internet. In particular, Vitaliy Glagola in the group "Uzhgorod" posted photos of the mentioned buildings and wrote:

– Do you recognize these buildings? They belong to the community of Transcarpathia, but they want to sell them!

• Transcarpathian Regional Dental Clinic (Nezalezhnist embankment);

• Regional Hospital for Veterans of War of the Transcarpathian Regional Council (Leo Tolstoy st., 13);

• Transcarpathian regional blood transfusion station (Leo Tolstoy st., 15).

They were valued at UAH 60 million. The institutions themselves are to be relocated to the BAM to the building on Griboyedov street, which has been on fire several times and is a home to hobos. Tomorrow, the regional council session will vote for it.

If so, – the journalist writes, – I propose to sell the building of the regional council too, and to move the deputies to the BAM to the building on Griboyedov street

 This proposal was enthusiastically supported by Uzhgorod residents.
