The Acting Deputy Head of the Transcarpathian Customs of the State Customs Service Vasyl Tatosh told about the causes of the long queue of trucks in front of the checkpoint across the Ukrainian-Slovak border "Uzhgorod – Vysne Nemecke".
Transcarpathian customs noted that one of the main reasons for the long queue of trucks is a non-functioning stationary scanning system (scanner failure) at the Slovak checkpoint "Vysne Nemecke" of Michalovce customs.
Also, due to the fact that many Ukrainian carriers do not have permits to carry out international cargo transportation through the territory of Poland, all freight traffic is going through Transcarpathia to Slovakia.
Transcarpathian customs adds that they are trying to solve the problem with huge queues in front of the checkpoint "Uzhgorod", and while the problem is being solved, they recommend carriers to choose other checkpoints to cross the border by trucks.
