The situation with car arsons, that have been in Transcarpathia for the past two or three years, concerns prosecutors and the police. Such crimes are not uncommon in other regions of Ukraine, in particular, Lviv colleagues are also concerned about a considerable number of burning vehicles in their region – the first deputy prosecutor of the region Andriy Bakay reported.
Criminal proceedings on officials’ car arsons are being investigated by officers of the MIA office in Transcarpathian region, the course of the investigation is under the control of the regional prosecutor’s office. At present, the number of criminal proceedings, registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations under Part 2 of Art.194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (the destruction or damage of property by arson), has reached more than 40 criminal proceedings, and nearly half of them are cases of car atson.
In the region there is a special team of experienced professionals who deal with the investigation of the arsons.
Unfortunately, however, such cases are still not uncommon in Transcarpathia. And, unfortunately, there has been no significant progress in the investigation.
Given the above, the Prosecutors of Transcarpathian region extended the duration of the activities planned at the intergovernmental meeting of heads of law enforcement agencies, which took place on April 24. In particular, they are analizing the performance of specially created investigative teams of experienced officers of the MIA, checking the financing of programs to combat crime for 2011-2015, and the quality of procedural guidance and operational activities rergarding these categories of crimes.
