The police detained the perpetrator of a fatal accident in Transcarpathia

According to her, the accident occurred on July 21 at about 22:00 in the village of Chynadiyevo, Mukachevo district. The police found a dead body at the scene. The driver of a car "VAZ 2170" ran over a pedestrian and left the scene. Parts of the car’s bumper remained in the area where the accident took place.

The next day, the person suspected of hitting the pedestrian was found in the village of Sinyak. The police found damages on his vehicle’s bumper. The car was taken to the impound lot of the Mukachevo police department. The 29-year-old driver, a resident of Mukachevo, was detained.

Two criminal proceedings were opened over the accident – for violating traffic safety rules, which led to the death of a person, and leaving a person in danger. The investigation into the case is ongoing, – Hanna Dan said.
