The police arrested the third participant of an armed attack in Beregovo district

Investigators of Beregovo Police Department served the notification of suspicion to the third participant of a robbery in the village of Varievo in Beregovo district. The indictment against two other participants in the crime were sent to court in March

Investigators of Beregovo Police Department notified a 37-year-old resident of Kyiv of being suspected of having committed a criminal offense under Part 4 of Art. 187 of the Criminal Code and Part 2 of Art. 353 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is robbery committed by an organized group and unauthorized appropriation of authority or official title. The court agreed with the arguments of the investigator about the need to impose a pretrial restraint on the offender and took him into custody for 60 days. The suspect in the robbery in the village Varievo is being held in the temporary detention facility.   

Recall that in late December 2016, in the village Varievo, unknown persons came to a local businessman and introduced themselves as police officers. They found in the house more than 800,000 UAH and told the owner that they are going to seize the money. The owner warned that he would call the police, after which one of the men threatened him with murder. Then, the robbers tied down the owner and his wife and fled. The police found the attackers’ car near a dam in the village of Vylok and quickly identified the persons involved in this crime. The persons involved in the offense – a 25-year resident of Sumy region, a 26-year-old resident of Dnipropetrovsk and a 37-year-old resident of Kyiv – were detained in the capital.
