On November 8, the long-awaited play dedicated to Transcarpathian fine arts luminary Adalbert Erdelyi was presented in the Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater.
Traditionally, the premiere was preceded by a press conference which was attended by managers of the theater, the author of the play – playwright Oleksandr Havrosh and the Rector of the Transcarpathian Art Institute Ivan Nebesnyk.
According to the artistic director of the theater Vasyl Shershun, last year, for the first time in a long time, the theater held an open competition for a new dramatic work. About ten playwrights, mostly local, including many famous Transcarpathian writers, submitted their works. The play of Oleksandr Havrosh "A good summer in Paris" was chosen because of the relevance of the topic and its original style.
In addition to direction, Anatoly Filippov also plays a major role in the play – mature Erdelyi (the role of the artist as a young man is played by Mykhailo Fischenko). The author of the play, obviously, liked the production. "The production is somewhat different from the play – Oleksander Havrosh admitts – While my text was more dramatic and edgy, in Anatoly Filippov’s interpretation, the image of Erdelyi is more romantic. And the director added a lot of music to the production".
To add even more artistic mood to the premiere, the exhibition of graduate works of Transcarpathian Art Institute students was deployed in the lobby of the theater.
The premiere attracted a full hall of spectators – fans of Adalbert Erdelyi (including many young people), as well as diehard fans of theatrical art and talent of Anatoly Filippov, who was congratulated on the director’s premiere, and on the new iconic role, and, occasionally, on the recent 80th anniversary.
