The persons who blocked traffic at the border were fined

Yesterday, the owners of cars with foreign registration started another campaign to block the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" on the border with Slovakia. The drivers of those cars obstructed the lawful actions of border guards and threatened them with physical violence.

 Thus, about 22.00, after passing the control at the exit from Ukraine in the checkpoint "Uzhgorod", 7 vehicles with foreign registration driven by citizens of Ukraine approached the state border and turned around toward the oncoming lane. One of the passengers pushed away the metal fence and let other cars to the oncoming lane leading towards Ukraine. Then, the drivers stopped and blocked the entrance to the checkpoint.

In addition, owners of cars with foreign registration and passengers of those vehicles were behaving rudely, used profanity and threatened border guards with physical violence.

In response, officers of the State Border Guard Service had to use physical force against one of the offenders.

The persons who were blocking the vehicular traffic were fined under Art.202 and Art.185-10 of the CAO of Ukraine.

The National Police Department and the Office of Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region were informed about the situation.
