The NBU will revoke licenses for violation of the rules of currency exchange

In case of repeated violations of currency exchange transaction rules, the National Bank will revoke the licenses of violators.

This was reported by the press service of the regulator in response to the request of the UNIAN regarding the information about the intentions of the NBU to close most exchange offices in Ukraine.

The National Bank reminded that in Ukraine all foreign exchange transactions are carried out at bank exchange offices and branches or at offices of non-bank financial institutions.

"Non-bank financial institutions received from the National Bank general licenses to conduct such transactions. Their activity is constantly monitored by the National Bank and its regional branches. In case of repeated violations, license shall be revoked," – the statement says.

According to the NBU, the analysis of banks showed that some of them carry out unscrupulous real currency trading at the foreign exchange market of Ukraine.

Experts believe that the currency bought by the banks goes to the "black" market, as evidenced by statistics of foreign currency deposit outflow from banks, morning queues to bank branches with people wanting to buy the currency and the intensification of illegal currency exchange points activity.

Earlier it was also reported that the National Bank noted the lack of improvement in the financial market of Ukraine and asked banks not to weaken the exchange rate below 16 hryvnia per dollar.
