In early spring, the legendary Narcissus Valley, located in the Kireshi tract near Khust, turns also into the valley of snowdrops and saffrons. And usually so it was. But this year, almost all of it is ashes.
The unique field, which is a protected zone, is entirely covered with patches of burnt grass and earth. Here and there, it is still smoldering. There were so many hearthes that the version of accidental fire (say, from a cigarette butt) is out of the question. Most likely, the workers of guards of the Valley themselves decided to burn dry grass and last year’s plants. Actually, the practice of burning the land instead of cleaning is rather commonplace in Transcarpathia, despite all the warnings of environmentalists and rescuers and simple common sense. But here, we are talking about a protected area.
The field of daffodils is part of the CBR, and special environmental regime is applied there. Such actions and incidents in the territory of the Narcissus Valley are unacceptable. It is a crime and should be punished.
Currently, we have not been able to receive comments from the CBR administration.
