Results of the second week of archaeological research
During the second week, the archaeological expedition of the Uzhgorod National University (supervisor: Candidate of Historical Sciences, Moizhes VV) did a fruitful work. In particular, they went 0.8 m deep from the floor level of the church. The stratigraphy of the excavation showed numerous cross ditches. In the open area of the central nave, the contours of several crypts were revealed. They are located in different sections of the excavation and, unfortunately, were plundered in the XVIII century.
Also, in the past few days, a number of individual discoveries were found. Those are the details of the clothing, namely a button and buckles, as well as a dozen coins of the XV-XVII centuries. They are the denominations of the Hungarian kingdom and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. New discoveries are ahead.
