The mayor’s office claim that “the learning process is going on effectively”

At the meeting of the Executive Committee, the Head of the Education Department of Uzhgorod City Council Oksana Babunych announced the results of monitoring of attendance, which was held in schools as directed by the mayor.

She announced: October 28, 1720 out of 13,560 students in the city schools were absent – this is 12.7% which is within the normal range. Tuesday, October 29, the number of students absent due to illness and under statements increased.

Mrs. Babunych also announced the results of the polls "for holidays" initiated by the mayor – she said that the majority of students and parents had not been interviewed, but in general the results are 64 versus 32 percent of those, respectively, who supported and did not support the annexion of autumn holidays to winter holidays. Also, Mrs. Oksana said that, in her opinion, the most important result is high attendance, which means that "the learning process is going effectively." At the City Hall, they continue to listen to teachers, but the initiative group of parents was not allowed to the room where the meeting takes place.
