The issues of the maintenance of household gas networks were discussed at the round table in Uzhgorod

Yesterday, representatives of condominiums and house managements of the regional center, city and regional authorities, "Zakarpatgaz" JSC and the State Labor Office in Transcarpathian region gathered at a round table in Uzhgorod City Council to discuss one of the most pressing issues of the present day – maintenance of household gas networks.  
The parties, in particular, tried to decide who should carry out such activities and who would be responsible in case of emergencies related to violation of the rules of gas system operation. 
Addressing the audience, the Mayor of Uzhgorod Bohdan Andriyiv emphasized that the heating season would start in a few months. Previously, the tariffs of the "Zakarpatgaz" included a certain amount for maintenance and service of gas networks. However, changes in current legislation in essence shifted this responsibility to the residents themselves. During 2018, no one checked the systems, which is of great concern because gas is a source of increased risk. At the end of his speech, Bohdan Andriyiv said he hoped that the logical outcome of the meeting would be a joint official request sent to the relevant state bodies to resolve this issue at the legislative level. 
Then there was a discussion during which each of the participants of the round table had the opportunity to express their own vision of solving the problem. 
As a result, the participants of the meeting agreed to ask the Cabinet for clarification on these issues and recommendations on possible ways to solve them. Source
