Forest managers of the Beregovo forestry enterprise are carrying out major reconstruction of the Beregufalu forestry division building. The building, which is more than 100 years old, has been in a state of disrepair for a long time; therefore, the current leadership of the forestry enterprise decided to repair the local architectural monument.
Since the XIV century, the village of Beregufalu belonged to the Mukachevo dominion, and the owners of the settlement were the owners of the Mukachevo castle. In the pre-war times, the forestry building served as a hunting lodge for the famous family, the owners of these lands, the counts of Schönborn.
Representatives of the noble family, would stop here while hunting for wild boars, bears, roes, wolves, foxes, rabbits, pheasants. In the Soviet period, the land, along with the building, became state property.
Now, it is the building of the Beregufalu division of the Beregove forestry enterprise.
Director of the Beregovo State Forestry Enterprise Bohdan Shoynoho says:
"Currently, as part of the reconstruction of the old forestry building, we have reinforced the foundation, walls, covered the roof. The work will continue. Also on the territory of the forestry, there is an old well, which in recent years has been in an abandoned state. The foresters cleared the almost 30 meters depp well, made a roof over it. Now, anyone, whether a local resident or a tourist, can drink the spring water from the well." Press service of the Transcarpathian Forest and Hunting Range Administration
