The head of the regional department of fisheries was detained for extortion of bribe

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region.

Under the procedural control of the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region, officers of the Economic Crime Department in Transcarpathian region and investigators of the Territorial Office of the State Investigation Bureau located in the city of Lviv on June 6, 2019 caught the head of the regional department of the State Agency of Fisheries in Transcarpathian region when he was receiving a bribe.

It was found out that he had demanded from a private entrepreneur $ 900 bribe for the approval of permits for the construction of trout farms.

$ 900 were seized in the office of the administration head.

At the moment, the person has been detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine, preliminary investigative activities are being conducted, the notice of suspicion is being prepared under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the choice of a pre-trial restraint is being decided.
