Lviv garrison military prosecutor’s office caught on bribery the Chief of the Medical Service of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade

January 15, 2016, Lviv garrison military prosecutor’s office of the Western Ukraine together with the operational staff of the Office for Economy Protection in Lviv region of the Department for Economy Protection of the National Police of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Lviv region recorded the fact of extortion and receiving of undue advantage by the Chief of the Medical Service of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade.

The bribe of 4.000 UAH from a mobilized soldier, who is being treated in the cardiology department, was intended for providing a referral for passing army medical commission.

The Medical Service Captain was arrested, and searches are being conducted at his place of work.

Currently, the issue of notification of the officer of being suspected of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obtaining undue advantage, coupled with extortion), a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention and removal from office is being decided.
