The Mayor’s Office was informed that the green zone on General Svoboda Avenue in Uzhgorod will not be built on. This desicion was supported by the parliamentary group.
"After hearing the proposal of the deputy Taras Rumyantsev, it was decided to support the position of the residents on the issue of protecting the green zone from the construction of a high-rise building on General Svoboda Avenue. The same position was supported by the parliamentary group "For the development of Uzhgorod" led by Andriy Pogorelov – not to continue the lease for the construction of an apartment building. This is a green zone, where there is a children’s playgrounds and a sports ground so we can not give the permission for construction there" – the statement reads.
We’ll see whether this support will be put into practice.
