The government wants to sell Uzhgorod cognac factory and Solotvyno salt mine

Cabinet of Ministers will leave 300 companies in the list of objects that are not subject to privatization, the remaining 1.2 thousand companies will be excluded from the list.

Major energy companies, mines and distilleries will be put up for sale. This was reported by the "Kommersant-Ukraine" in the publication "The country is being prepared for sale."

The newspaper obtained the text of amendments to the law "On the list of state property that is not subject to privatization."

On the previous day, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Petro Poroshenko had told about the preparation of this document, reporting only that the list of state enterprises prohibited for privatization would be reduced more than fivefold – from 1,492 to 296. However, a source in the government reported that the bill has already been approved by the Cabinet and is being prepared to submitting to parliament. At the last minute, "Turboatom" was removed from the list on the initiative of the Ministry of Finance.

The final document actually allows large-scale privatization of coal mines: the state will own only 11 companies in the Donetsk region, and 7 in Luhansk region.

There will also be a massive privatization of distilleries, radio transmission centers and book and magazine publishers ("Lybid", "Dnipro").

Almost all sports centers, swimming pools and stadiums are going to be privatized, with the exception of the enterprise which manages the Palace of Sports, "Olympiysky" stadium, "Lviv Arena". Keeping in the state ownership the most iconic wineries such as "Koktebel" and "Massandra", the Government proposes to allow the sale of a number of Southern and Carpathian farm factories, including Uzhgorod and Odessa Cognac Factory, Odessa factory of sparkling wines. Of all the public elevators only Novotroitsky will not be subject to privatization.

The road to privatization is open for large companies, many of which are monopolies. "Naftogaz of Ukraine", "Chornomornaftogaz", "Ukrinterenergo" and "Ukrspetstransgaz" (liquefied gas), GAO "Pipelines "Druzhba" will be excluded from the list of objects that are not subject to privatization.

Kharkiv Electromechanical Plant, Dashava Composite Materials Plant, special manufacturing of Kyiv factory "Radar" and Solotvyno salt mine are removed from the list.
