On March 9, the funeral of the soldier of the 128th mountain infantry brigade, commander of the IFV Oleksandr Tovt, who was killed near Debaltseve, took place in Beregovo.
According to the wishes of his parents, the public ceremony at the local House of Culture was canceled. The soldier was buried at the cemetery in the Bucha neighborhood according to the Reformed rite.
The funeral was attended by Oleksandr’s comrades, a military band was playing, soldiers made three shots into the air.
Oleksandr Tovt was the fourth soldier from the city of Beregovo killed during the ATO in eastern Ukraine. He was 44 years old. He studied in the school №2 with Russian language of teaching. His parents were geologists. The funeral was attended by his first teacher Lyubov Oros, who retired long time ago.
"Three residents of Beregovo, who died for Ukraine, went to the school №2, I knew them well – the teacher of Ukrainian language Svitlana Chyryban says. – For example, Roland Popovich was somewhat pragmatic, he knew exactly what he needed – and said that he would be attending only those lessons that he needed. He was a kind man who would never deliberately hurt anyone. Perhaps, he died precisely because of this trusting nature…
Oleg Tyurikov was special, an intellectual – from an educated family. He had many ideas but did not know how to put them into practice in our little town, and perhaps he was suffering because of this. Therefore, he did not hesitate to go to the ATO zone, because he wanted to feel useful…
And Sasha Tovt… One can say that he never tried to be special, but rather inconspicuous, mild-tempered. After school, I never met him. And now, such a loss for all of us, for the family…"
According to unofficial information, five soldiers of the company of the 128th Brigade, where Oleksandr Tovt served, were killed while leaving Debaltseve and two soldiers are still in the captivity of separatists.
