As part of the regional program "Playground", the playground with artificial turf was officially opened in Keretsky in Svalyava district. Now pupils of the local school, where more than five hundred students study, can play the ball in physical education classes and in free time.
– Our goal is to create facilities for kids to play sports in every corner of Transcarpathia. It is particularly important to create conditions for those living in rural areas, because in the cities sports infrastructure is developed better. Therefore, in each district of the region there already are several modern equipped sports grounds – Oleksandr Ledyda said at the opening.
The head of Slalyava vistrict Ivan Drohobetsky promised to continue efforts to help local communities with the arrangement of such mini-fields.
Traditionally, young local athletes received a set of sports equipment, which they immediately tested on the new mini-field:
– Finally we can actually play football! Before that, physical education lessons were held in the school gym, and there is not enough space there – a third grade student of Keretsky school Serhiy said.
Currently, another five fields with artificial turf in the region are already ready to be opened. Overall, by the end of the year, seven dozens of such playgrounds will have been opened in the region – the press-center of the RSA informed.
