The regional authority report on the work for elimination of the consequences of the flood in several districts of the region.
The Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Mykhailo Rivis reports to the community:
"At the moment, the flood peak has passed, therefore, we can draw some conclusion:
The territorial civil protection subsystem of Transcarpathia, in general, coped with the situation. Thanks to the coordinated work, prompt engagement of all available forces and means, despite the high flood waters, particularly in mountainous areas, we managed to prevent significant destruction and damage to infrastructure in the region. Response and actions of all services were timely and qualified. I would like to thank the managers and personnel of the State Emergencies Service Office in Transcarpathian region; Basin Water Management Administration "Tisa"; the National Police Department in Transcarpathian region; the Hydrometeocentre; the Road Service, heads of district state administrations and all, without exception, concerned residents of Transcarpathia.
But I want to note that suppression of the financing for the flood program "Tisa" is not conducive to the safe passage of autumn and spring floods in Transcarpathia. So, yesterday, at an extraordinary session of the regional commission of technological-ecological safety and emergency situations, I received the order from the head of the region of Hennadiy Moskal to prepare a letter to the Government on the inclusion of funding for this program to the country’s budget for the next year. All MPs from Transcarpathia will be asked to sign the letter.
Currently, we continue to monitor the situation, in some areas where flood water level has decreased, the inspection and assessment of the damages is being carried out.
As of 13.00, 22.11.2015, the traffic on the roads of the region has been restored in all directions. There are no disruptions in water and gas supply and sewage. In mountainous areas, flood waters are flowing out of households and farmlands by gravity. Electricity restored in all settlements except for the transformer substation 7 in
the village of Lopukhovo in Tyachiv district.
Three mobile pumping stations of the Tisa Basin Water Management Administration were engaged to pump floodwater. Due to the lowering of flood waters, as of 13.00, the pumping stations were shutdown. Flood waters are being carried away by gravity. In case of deterioration of the hydrological situation, 32 stationary, 16 mobile pumping stations and more than one thousand water regulation facilities (locks, water outlets, etc.) are kept ready to work.
The units of the State Emerhencies Service Office have pumped about 300 m3 of water out of 25 households (including 17 residential buildings)."
