The Director of the Transcarpathian Regional Archive was caught on 1000 Euros bribe

The official, acting deliberately, realizing the illegality of his act, for the purpose of illicit enrichment, demanded and received a bribe in his office in the amount of EUR 1,000 for the services that are part of his powers – production and issuance of an archival certificate for the citizen S. to confirm his family relation (as his grandmother) to a resident of the village of Mali Heyivtsi in Uzhgorod district. Immediately after that, he was caught at the scene of the criminal offense by the police officers.

The suspect was arrested according to Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.  Prosecutor’s office ensured control over the pretrial investigation.

Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – a bribe in large amount or committed by an official who is in a responsible position, or by a conspiracy, or repeatedly, or combined with extortion – punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years and confiscation of property.
