The accident occurred near the village Onok of Vinogradiv district around 6 a.m. today, on April 22. The Vinogradiv district Assistant Prosecutor was driving on the highway ‘Dovge-Irshava-Vinogradiv’ on 38 km between the settlements of the city Vinogradiv and the village Onok when his car collided with a counter machine Peugeot 407 Audi-80.
As a result of the accident, the driver and the passenger of the car ‘Audi-80’ died on the spot and the Assistant Prosecutor of Vinogradiv district was delivered in intensive care department of Vinogradiv district hospital.
The Regional Prosecutor Anatolii Petrunia, the Deputy Regional Prosecutor Vitalii Roman, senior investigator of the Internal Affairs Investigation Department of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the Vinogradiv district Prosecutor Valerii Chernychko and investigative team with its full complement immediately arrived at the place of accident.
The criminal proceedings instituted under the Part 3, article 286 Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the road safety regulations or transport exploitation by people who controls vehicles) according to the given fact. The pre-trial investigation process is led by the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
Cars are placed on the car pound of the Vinogradiv MIA in the Transcarpathian region.
Blood samples were taken from the drivers for the presence of alcohol.
