The official visit of the delegation from Uzhgorod to American sister city of Corvallis at the invitation of the coordinator of several projects, Honorary Citizen of Uzhgorod Peter Bober is scheduled for May 2016, the official page of the city council in Facebook informs.The delegation will be headed by Uzhgorod Mayor Bogdan Andriyiv, it will also include members of the association of twin cities "Corvallis-Uzhgorod" and scientists of UzhNU.
This was discussed today during a meeting of the mayor with representatives of the association of twin cities "Corvallis-Uzhgorod" – Pavlo Blanar, Katerina Bizilya and Katerina Brenzovych.
It was noted that friendly relations between the cities have been continuing for almost 25 years, and for many Uzhgorod residents Corvallis is mainly associated with charity: support to orphans and children with special needs, and assisting medical institutions of Uzhgorod. Recall that Carol Paulson, philanthropist from Corvallis, was one of the founders of the medical and social rehabilitation center for children with special needs "Way of Life".
It is expected that during the visit to the US the delegation from Uzhgorod will be able to visit government agencies to share experiences, to discuss joint projects and in general to continue cooperation between Transcarpathian and American cities.
