The management of the Regional Military Commissariat in Transcarpathia summed up the conscription campaign. The conscription campaign finished in May.

– This spring, we called to military service 250 men of military age. The target, that was set for us by the higher command, was fulfilled 100% – the Regional Military Commissar Colonel Bohdan Cheremisky said. – The young men, who were drafted, will be trained in the training centers for service in the Army, Air Forces, Navy, National Guard and State Special Transport Service. The difference is that this time there was no drafting to the Border Guard Service.

According to the military, there were some problems during the conscript campaign, as many young men are working abroad. They also pointed out irresponsible attitude of most recruits and their families to military service.Many of them refused to accept the calls, resorted to swearing, threats toward employees of military commissioners, and tried to "solve" the problem.

It is worth noting that this year the amount of one-time cash payment to conscript soldiers was increased, it is now 3200 UAH. In 2016, recruits received 2900 UAH.

– Conscripts will serve on exterritorial basis, ie outside the region. After training, they will be distributed to units according to the need in specific military specialties, – the head of the staffing and recruitment department – the Deputy Military Commissar Lieutenant Colonel Yuriy Velychkanych said. – Conscripts cannot be engaged to take part in the ATO.

However, if a conscript is willing, he can sign a contract and serve in a combat unit.

In addition, according to the Military Commissar, in July and August, additional recruitment of young men for military service in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine will be conducted.
