The budget deficit has increased by 2.3 times

In January-February 2014, the state budget deficit totaled 5.279 billion hryvnias, which is 2,945 billion hryvnias or 2.3 times more than the deficit in January-February 2013.

This was reported on the site of the Ministry of Finance.

As reported, March 27, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the bill on amendments to the law "On State Budget of Ukraine for 2014". 

According to the explanatory memorandum, the government proposes to reduce the maximum budget deficit in 2014 from 71.564 billion hryvnias to 68.564 billion hryvnias.

Thus, the deficit of the general fund of the budget is proposed to be left unchanged at 62.566 billion hryvnias, and the special fund deficit is to be reduced from 8.999 billion hryvnias to 5.999 billion hryvnias.
