Lychakiv district court of the city of Lviv imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of 60-day custody on a senior officer of one of the operational search departments of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service. Alternatively, he can be released on bail of UAH 153,680.
In addition, by the decision of the court, the captain was removed from office.
As previously reported, on May 15, 2019, under the procedural control of the military prosecutor’s office of the Uzhgorod garrison, investigators of the territorial department of the State Bureau of Investigation located in the city of Lviv, jointly with with the Department of Internal Security of the Mukachevo border guard detachment, documented the fact of giving of an undue advantage by the said officer.
The bribe in amount of UAH 10,000 was intended for an officer of the checkpoint "Vylok" of the department "Dyakove" of the Mukachevo border guard detachment for providing official information on the placement of border patrols at the state border for transportation of tobacco products outside border crossing point in violation of the established procedure of export-import. This was reported by the press service of the military prosecutor’s office of the Western region of Ukraine.
