In Uzhgorod, fencing championship of Ukraine finished. It has twice been held in the "Yunist" Sport Complex. And for the second time Transcarpathians win gold medal. Uzhgorod fencer Anatoly Herey again was the best in the men’s sword, thus proving that the Transcarpathian school is still one of the best. This time Uzhgorod athlete in the final defeated Yevhen Makiyenko from Kyiv – 15:13.
"One gold medal is a good result, but we expected at least one more medal, – said one of the organizers of the tournament and head coach of the Sport School for Children and Youth Serhiy Horetski. – However, our athletes were pretty good and proved their skill."
It should also be noted that the championship was held at a high level. As Chief Secretary of the competitions Natalia Kalinina told, all the guests and participants of the tournament were satisfied. Therefore, we can safely say that the Transcarpathian region again passed the exam to be called the capital of Ukrainian fencing.
