The best terrace is being determined in Uzhgorod

The press conference of the competition organizers for the best summer terrace in Uzhgorod was held in the ‘Zakarpatska Pravda’ newspaper press center today, June 5. He was initiated by Council of Entrepreneurs under the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration (RSA) with the support of the Uzhgorod City Council Architecture and Urban Construction and the community organizations.

The Secretary of the Entrepreneurs Council at the Transcarpathian RSA Maksym  Ivanov said that the competition will be held in the period of June-October this year. It will be composed of the several stages. At first, Uzhgorod entrepreneurs – the summer terraces’ holders – the initiative group will be introduced with the developed for this competition criteria.

The 10 jury members and the public, of course, will inspect and determine the best terraces. The voting will take place in the social networks, so every Uzhgorod citizen will be able to participate in the winner determination. By the way, the winner will be only the one, and the best regional center terrace’s owner will receive a special diploma, which he will be able to put it in a conspicuous place in order to attract even more visitors.

This is not the last event that will be held by this initiative group for the sake of Uzhgorod accomplishment. According to Maxim Ivanov, it is also appropriate to hold a competition on the best showcase, because there are a lot of ugly shop windows in Uzhgorod and it is necessary to show how we can make them more attractive.

Yulia Dub, the public initiative ‘Save the old Uzhgorod’ representative pointed out that such competitions are necessary, because Uzhgorod has already lost its title of the ‘Little Paris’ and it has to fight for this again now. ‘We will be very harsh juries, because we want to reach the best. This is not a single event the same competition will be held next year. I believe that at least the center of Uzhgorod will be much more beautiful in a year or two.’ – said the social activist.

The exact date of the contest is currently unknown, but its organizers say that entrepreneurs will receive the criteria already in June. As soon as they get it the terraces work monitoring will start, the results of which will be solemnly summarized in October this year.
