The behavior of a journalist will be analyzed by the Journalism Ethics Commission

The head of the Labor and Social Protection Office of the Executive Committee of the Mukachevo City Council of Transcarpathian region, Natalia Zotova, appealed to the Journalistic Ethics Commission (JEC) to complain about the actions of the editor of the newspaper "Syla Narodnoho Kontrolyu – Chop" Larysa Stupak. Zotova regards Stupak’s behavior as defamatory to her honor, dignity and business reputation, as well as to the dignity of the journalist profession, and asks the JEC to analyze the actions of the editor. The copy of the complaint was provided to the IMI.

The complaint states that Larysa Stupak, during the visits to the Office on October 11 and 17, 2016, in the capacity of a journalist, "was behaving unprofessionally and unethically," addressed Zotova and the employees of the office "with the words defamatory to their honor, dignity and business reputation".

Also, the head of the Office reported that the journalist of the newspaper was behaving "improperly, brazenly, condescendingly."

"I consider the behavior of the journalist Stupak L.V. as such that defames the honor, dignity of the journalist profession, compromises the journalists’ credibility in the society. By her actions, Stupak L.V. disparages my honor, dignity and business reputation among my subordinates and among the residents of the city of Mukachevo, as I am a public figure, a representative of an institution which many people appeal to.

In view of the foregoing, I ask to assess the actions of the editor of the newspaper "Syla Narodnoho Kontrolyu – Chop", Stupak Larysa Viktorivna, to check the activity of the said publication, and, in the event of confirmation of the facts reported by me, to bring her to justice", – Natalia Zotova wrote in her complaint to the JEC.
