That’s it! No more poplar trees in the center! (PHOTOS)

Near the pedestrian bridge, I saw a truck with the remnants of the felled trees. I took a picture.    "We have cut the trees down, because they were old. They could have done harm," – a man in a working clothes explains.

Just like that Uzhgorod lost several more trees in the center of the city – near the pedestrian bridge in front of the coffee shop "Medellin." Strange, because the stumps are healthy. Anyone can see it.

An Uzhgorod resident Serhiy, who photographed the "scene", said with regret: "It was an original species of poplar (shows branches – Auth.). The tree is healthy. But who cares. You see, people are just passing by."

Mr. Serhiy says that he has repeatedly appealed to the City Hall about these trees. "There were three poplar trees on the other side (where stands with flowers are now), they cut them down. Then at the mayor’s office they told me that they could not do anything, because kiosks were private property. Now, they cut down the rest of the trees, but from the opposite side. There were five poplar trees here – one tree withered away earlier, the rest were cut down."

 And we want to tell the mayor’s office one thing: if only you planted as much as you cut down!
