Verkhovna Rada has established a 50% discount on utilities for adoptive families in which 3 or more children have lived at least a year, reports the Observer
Article 13 of the Law "On Protection of Childhood" has been amended with the relevant provision.
This change works for family-type orphanages and foster families in which three or more children have lived for at least 1 year , as well as for the families (except for large ones), in which is three or more children have lived at least one year, including those under tutelage.
The bill, which is marked by number 8606, has been initiated by the member of the party “Regiony” Elbrus Tadeev and the representative of the faction "Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense" Ekaterina Lukyanova. 264 members of parliament have voted in favour of benefits for adoptive parents and fosters (226 votes are needed for the adoption of a new bill).
As we know, starting from June 2011, families having distance-learning students, but not older than 23, also may have the status of large.
