Last week, the head of the Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda by his order formed the Standing commission on the treatment of abandoned waste. Similar commissions should be established in districts and towns of the region.
Commissions are formed "in order to prevent or reduce the volume of waste and to improve the mechanism of its accounting." The Commission will determine the number, composition, properties, cost of waste, the degree of risk to the environment and human health and take steps to determine the owner of the waste.
Based on the results of their work, the Commission shall draw up the report which is to be submitted to the local state administration or local authority to decide on the further waste management.
The Governor appointed his first deputy Igor Svyshcho as the head of the Regional standing commission on the treatment of abandoned waste.
