Last week, a letter signed by the head of the union bureau of the Faculty of International Relations Kamila Sheverya appeared in the Internet in which she informs students that soon living allowance will be paid to a maximum of 60% of students on state budgets.
According to the author of the letter, at the Faculty of International Relations the following students will not receive living allowance: first, those with grade 3 for examination or differentiated test, secondly, those whose GPA is less than 4.6.
Uzhgorod.in addressed to the head of the UzhNU student union committee Andriana Zavadyak for comments. Andriana confirmed that soonliving allowance will be paid to fewer number of students on state budgets. It was reported at the meeting with the rector of UzhNU. It should be noted that such "impairment" applies not only to UzhNU – similar situation will be in all universities of the country.
Taking this measure the ministry follow the order on living allowance charging, which in 2004 was signed by the then Education Minister Vasyl Kremen.
Andriana Zavadyak addressed to the Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine. They explained that the decision can be challenged in court, but it is unlikely that anything will change, as higher education institutions, including UzhNU received no more than 70% of the living allowance fund.
So far, it is hard to say how significantly living allowance will be reduced. Approximately – 15-20% less.
