“Step Afrika!”: A grand dance event will be held in Uzhgorod (Announcement)

On April 9-20, a grand dance event will be held in Uzhgorod – American team "Step Afrika!" will bring Afro-American step to Uzhgorod!

The program "Step Afrika!": Dance show – April 19 at 7:00 in the Transcarpathian Regional Music and Drama Theater. The repertoire of "Step Afrika!" includes traditional and modern step, as well as other dance styles from around the world. The 1.5 hour show involves wider audience engagement through interactivity, games, and the opportunity for members of the audience to join the company and learn to dance step on the stage.

Master class for students of Uzhgorod School of Arts – April 20 at 10:00. Cultural exchange with Ukrainian dancers and musicians. "Step Afrika!" will share stepping techniques with local artists and learn Ukrainian traditions of dance and percussion.

Master class for students of Uzhgorod College of Culture and Arts – April 20 at 12:00. Cultural exchange with Ukrainian dancers and musicians. "Step Afrika!" will share stepping techniques with local artists and learn Ukrainian traditions of dance and percussion.

Flash mob – April 20 at 14:00 on Teatralna Sq. During the outdoor flash mob, spectators will be interacting with the members of "Step Afrika!" and will feel the powerful energy of the African-American step.

Seminar for students of Uzhgorod National University. The participants will learn about the African-American stepping culture, master the dance step combinations and will even be able to personally chat with members of "Step Afrika!".
