On December 17, people celebrate St. Barbara Day. Interestingly, only women celebrate this holiday. On that day, it was forbidden to spin, weave, wash, wash and mash clay. Only embroidering was allowed.
On that day, in the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, there will be an open master-class on embroidery from the head of the museum embroidering studio "Kosytsya" Tetyana Kohutych and the women, who were studying at the studio during the year.
All those, who are willing to learn how to embroider under the guidance of experienced mistresses will be able to try to embroider a six-petal flower and later to make a New Year’s toy with this piece of fabric.
Also, the choreographer and concertmaster of the Honored Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir will conduct a master class on folk dances and teach the visitors the basics of Transcarpathian dances.
The beginning is on December 17, 2017, at 12.00.
