Special operation: the organizer of assassination was detained in Uzhgorod

 This week, criminal investigators established the whereabouts and detained the organizer of the crime. This was reported by the head of the search organization division of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police Roman Krylevych.

According to him, in October 2018, a car of a 59-year-old local resident was fired at on one of the highways in Kherson region. In particular, the attacker provoked a collision of his vehicle with the victim’s car. The suspect fired 20 shots at the victim’s car.

"At the time of the crime, there were three people in the car. Two people suffered gunshot wounds – the target and one of the passengers," – Roman Krylevych said.

He added that the shooter was detained by the police immediately. During the investigation, the police established that the suspect had received a weapon and detailed instructions from the mastermind of the crime. He was paid for his "job" in advance, the Communication Department of the National Police of Ukraine informs.
This week, operatives from the Criminal Investigation Department with the participation of officers from the Transcarpathian Criminal Investigation Department established the whereabouts and detained the organizer of the assassination attempt. The 37-year-old man was hiding in Uzhgorod. The special operation was carried out with the support of a special police company.

"The suspect is charged with attempted assassination and illegal possession of a vehicle. He faces life imprisonment. Investigative actions are underway," – Roman Krylevych, the head of the investigation department of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police said.
