Smugglers paid off … with murder

Yesterday, in Transcarpathia, border guard dog Tero was killed.

Since April this year, the spaniel has been serving in the Mukachevo border guard detachment. Now the circumstances of his death are being established. It is worth noting that the killed dog was one of the most active fighters against tobacco smuggling. Thus, during the service in the Mukachevo detachment, he helped to find nearly 200 thousand packs of cigarettes worth more than 2 million hryvnia. 

The four-pawed border guard was killed at the place of residence. The cynologist trainer found the dog dead in the yard.

Given the activity of Tero in combating illegal activities at the border and the circumstances of death, it is is likely that in such a way smugglers decided to do away with him. To establish all the circumstances, border guards and the police are conducting investigation, the press service of the Western Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service informed.
