Smugglers, fleeing from border guards, left almost three thousand packs of cigarettes

Yesterday, border guards of the Mukachevo detachment prevented an attempt of cigarette smuggling.

While patroling Ukrainian-Romanian section of the state border, border guards of the "Dilove" department noticed several people carrying large packages wrapped in black polyethylene on their shoulders. The servicemen immediately began pursuing the offenders, but those, taking advantage of the considerable distance from the border guards, left their cargo and fled.

During the inspection of the area, the border guards found near the border 6 packages with 2900 cigarette packs without excise stamps. The tobacco products were delivered to the border guard department and will be subsequently handed over to the SFS employees.
