School for diabetics opens in Uzhgorod

On May 22, Tuesday, at 10.00 a.m. grand opening of the School of Medical and Social Adaptation for patients with diabetes will take place on the premises of Transcarpathian A.Novak Regional Clinical Hospital. The first school in Uzhgorod, according to the organizers, will allow the citizens to improve their level of knowledge about this disease, help prevent complications in patients with diabetes, motivate them to improve the quality of life, provide psychological rehabilitation of patients.

Note: Given the pace of the disease spread in the world, the World Healthcare Organization calls diabetes worldwide epidemic. The biggest problem of overcoming diabetes is that according to medical observations identified cases of diabetes make only 40% of the total number of cases. Today in Ukraine there are more than 1.2 million people with diabetes, including 8000 children. There has been increase in prevalence of diabetes in Ukraine for last 5 years by 26%.
